A sales order is an internal document created by a company. Within the CommerceJet app, a sales order should record the trading partner's originating purchase order (PO). Once a purchase order is created by a trading partner, a sales order is either generated automatically or manually created. Rather than using the trading partner's purchase order document, an internal sales order allows for an organization to follow specific quality control methods such as accounting for inventory required and relevant pricing for the products included within the PO. A sales order, being an internal document, can therefore contain many customer purchase orders under it.
