During the sales order workflow, once a sales order has been approved, inventory is allocated to the sales order in the form of reducing the quantity of "available to promise" inventory. During the workflow, the item is pulled from the warehouse and moved to a staging location. Once the fulfillment is finalized, the product's quantity is reduced matching the quantity suggested on the fulfillment document.
