Adding a new location to your warehouse in CommerceJet allows you to better organize and manage your inventory. Follow these steps to quickly set up a new location in your warehouse.

Step 1: Access Your Warehouse

From your CommerceJet Dashboard, go to the Warehouse section. Find the warehouse where you want to add a location, then click View to open its details.

Step 2: Add a New Location

Click the Add Location button, and a form will appear asking for basic information. Start by naming the location. Make sure the name is clear and easy to recognize, like Storage A-101 or Staging Area 1.

Step 3: Choose Location Type

Select a location type from the two available options:

  • Staging: For inventory prep or sorting
  • Storage: For holding stock or long-term inventory

Choose the type that best fits the purpose of the location you’re adding.

Step 4: Enter Pallet Capacity

Enter the Pallet Capacity for this location. This helps define how much inventory the location can handle and ensures efficient use of space in your warehouse.

Step 5: Activate Custom Features

Customize the location by activating relevant features:

  • Adjustable: Allows inventory adjustments from this location
  • Putaway: Marks this location as available for placing new stock
  • Pickable: Allows inventory from this location to be selected for orders
  • Active: Ensures the location is usable in your daily operations

These settings can help optimize your warehouse workflow and inventory management.

Step 6: Review and Submit

Double-check the information you've entered. If everything looks good, click Submit to add the new location to your warehouse.

Success!

You’ve successfully added a new location to your warehouse in CommerceJet. This new location is now ready to be used in your warehouse operations with all the custom settings you’ve configured.
