Configuring QuickBooks settings in CommerceJet allows for effective mapping of items, tax codes, and SKU alignment. Follow this guide to set up default tax codes and SKU fields accurately.
Step 1: Access QuickBooks Settings in CommerceJet
From your CommerceJet Dashboard, go to Settings and select QuickBooks. Click on Manage QuickBooks Items to access item import and mapping options.
Step 2: Configure Item Mapping and Tax Code
- Item Mapping: The default mapping is based on the Item Name field from QuickBooks Desktop. To change the mapping, click the Manage Settings link to adjust item matching settings as needed.
- Fallback Customer and Default Customer for Sales Receipts are optional fields to help match customer names. Configure these per trading partner if desired.
Default Tax Code: Enter the tax code set up in QuickBooks for use on sales receipts. For this tutorial, enter WAST
as your default tax code.
Step 3: Choose SKU Field
In the SKU field configuration, you have two options:
- Item Name (default in QuickBooks)
- Manufacturer’s Part Number
For this tutorial, select Manufacturer’s Part Number as it matches the SKU used in CommerceJet. Remember, fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required. Click Update to save these changes.
Step 4: Handling SKU Errors
If you encounter SKU errors, this typically indicates a mismatch between the Manufacturer’s Part Number in QuickBooks and the SKU in CommerceJet. Use SKU rules to resolve this:
- Click on the SKU rules icon to add a new rule.
- Enter the QuickBooks Item Name and the corresponding SKU from CommerceJet.
- To locate the SKU in CommerceJet, go to Inventory > Products in the side menu, find the item name, and click View. Copy the SKU from the Variants field.
- Paste the SKU in the required field, then click Submit to save the rule.
Success!
Your QuickBooks items are now set up with the default tax code and the SKU mapping field. Using SKU rules will further ensure accuracy in item tracking across platforms.
